in July of 2023 I took a self-portrait for a Tafe assessment that was Rising Floral. Background information. Now I really wanted to impress my photography teacher this time as last time I was overly confident and it wasn't very amazing photos so with this Tafe assessment task being that I had to research two artists one pre 1960 about a historical person and one post 1960 about a contemporary artist then to take a photo that took inspiration or that was influenced by them both I decided to choose Fransisco De Goya as my historical artist and Christian Thompson artist as my contemporary artist Christian Thompson already being a huge reason for why I got into photography and being a contemporary artist was a big reason to choose him for researching. I was influenced to use a canvas, spray paint and acrylic paint for the background from Fransisco De Goya and I was influenced by Christian Thompson to use native flowers but they were not in season during the making of the photo so I had to go and get Rose flowers and was originally going to put them on the canvas in the background but I decided to change with the idea coming from joy to put them around my head I also use glitter with mixed in the paint and on me but it doesn't really come out in the photo. I decided to use a mask this time because of my friends because I had taken a photo of me with it on instagram and had shared it and people had loved it before I had even started painting. I used an app on my photo to take the photos on manual. After taking them, I edited the photos using Lightroom to enhance the saturation and shadows I only ended up using one of the photos as it was the best one. After spending 3 days of getting supplies taking the photos and editing. I presented it to the class and everyone loved it. ( I set the bar for the class apparently )
