Newsworthy and LightScape

In June of ‎June ‎2023, I had to make 4 photos in total with two from each theme my options being these, macro photos, landscape photos and portrait photos. These are those my photos. I decided to use the theme portrait photos and macro photos. My intentions for this portrait were to portray someone graffitiing a wall of propaganda. The concept for it was originally about the world and the publicization of news without the use of a spray can but I found the normal poses I usually do weren’t fitting with it. So I decided to experiment with poses with the spray can (which I had used to get the red on the newspaper). I ended up keeping the idea of news by using it in the title. I had looked into the use of a newspaper background for the previous portrait photos I took but I ended up scrapping the idea as I found something more interesting. This time I decided to use newspaper for the background by tearing up newspaper and selecting words that would go with the theme I had in mind. After tearing the paper up I got a big piece of cardboard and stapled the paper to it. After doing that I got some spray paint and put dots on it then I made a darkroom to experiment with by covering the windows and turning off the light. Using artificial lighting originally, I was going to use a light bar shining on the side of me however the photos didn’t turn out how I wanted them to. I then decided to use the flash on the camera as it would give off the appearance of paparazzi catching someone in the act of vandalism. I used an app connected to the camera to take the photos with the camera being on auto. After taking the photos I used Lightroom to edit it.
